I’m Di and I offer a personal, professional dog walking/pet and home sitting service in Northwich and surrounding areas.
Whether you are working, going on holiday or just finding it difficult to find the time to exercise your dog, I’m here to help!
I cater for my clients and their pets on a personal level, you tell me what it is you need and I will do my best to accommodate your request.
Each client and their pet is unique!
I offer a personal, professional, reliable, trustworthy and friendly service in your local area. In Northwich alone we have the most beautiful river and woodland walks that I know your dog will love. I can offer one to one or group walks depending on you and your dogs’ preference!
Your dog can be exercised for half an hour, an hour or more a day or just a couple of hours a week entirely to suit your needs.
For elderly dogs, puppies, cats and any other pet I offer home visits. Letting your pet out to relieve themselves, enjoy a playtime, feed them or just keep them company for a while! A bored and lonely dog can be a destructive unhappy dog and may lead to behavioural problems later on!
If you are away from home for whatever reason, holiday, work, hospital etc. and don’t want to leave your pet in a boarding kennel I offer a house/pet sitting service, looking after your most precious possessions, your home and your dog! You will have peace of mind knowing that your pet and home are in safe hands minimising the stress for both of you!
I have had a lifetimes experience with dogs and I love them, let me love yours too!
I am fully insured with Cliverton Insurance and have no criminal convictions.
House and Hound is a new business set up by myself in 2012. I resigned from my office job and decided to pursue my dream of working with animal’s full time.
I have worked at a boarding kennel, with a German Shepherd breeder and as an assistant nurse at a Vets. I have also worked as a park ranger with the National Trust and have been a professional fundraiser for Cheshire Wildlife Trust. For the past few years I have worked in Admin but always felt that my calling to work with animals was stronger and something I had to do!
I really enjoy being outdoors and am not a ‘fair weather person’, sun, rain or snow I love it! I’m dedicated to the work I now do and animals in my care can feel safe and secure.
From an early age I have been passionate about wildlife, nature, conservation and of course all of my pets! As a toddler I was forever collecting worms and caterpillar’s, to caring for injured wildlife in my teens to looking after an array of pets over the years including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, fish, cats and my beloved dog’s .
Dog Walking
Dogs love a regular walk and routine, it prevents boredom and destructive behaviour and makes for a happy healthier dog! The Kennel Club recommend that a dog is walked for at least 40 minutes per day! I can come and walk your dog for half an hour, an hour or more, we can do a ‘take it easy walk’ or a ‘power walk’ depending on your dog’s agility! I will spend the whole of the booked time out with your dog regardless of the weather! I will make sure they have everything they need, plenty of water and a good towel dry if it’s raining and if they need feeding too, that’s not a problem! I would visit at a time to suit you and your dog and offer this service on a regular or occasional basis.
Dry shampoo and brush
A full herbal dry shampoo/condition and brush! Your dog will have a glossy coat and smell sweet and fresh for days! I can offer this service for free if you book 5 one hour walks a week on a regular basis.
Home visits
Puppy visits: If you have a puppy and have to go to work, I can provide a home visit, once or twice a day by arrangement. I can let your puppy out to relieve themselves, playtime, feed, clean up any ‘accidents’ and keep them company for a while! Bored and lonely puppies are very destructive and it can lead to behavioural problems later on! After your pup has been vaccinated they can then join me on a regular daily walk and I can implement any training that you have put in place! Socialising is very important to a young dog!
Older dogs, Cats and other pets: I can visit your pet once or twice a day by arrangement to feed, play, relieve themselves, administer medication or just keep them company for a while!
House and pet sitting
While you’re away from home and don’t want to leave your pet in a boarding kennel I can do two daily visits to your home (am and pm) to feed and exercise your pet, water plants, bring in post, turn lights on/off etc. Overnight sitting by arrangement
Small animal boarding
Looking after your small caged animal in my home.
If the service you require isn’t listed, please contact me, I still may be able to help!

Our Friends…..
'Our pooch Toby is 20 year's old.
He has found a true friend with Di.
She looks after him so well.
Di goes that extra mile.
Fantastic service.'
Krys & Toby, Northwich
Di Jones is just what you want in a ‘Dog Walker’
She is a real dog lover and quickly bonds with the dog.
She is completely reliable as she makes the walk fun but the
dog’s safety is paramount.
Due to illness, I needed someone to walk Poppy, our 20 month old Labrador.
My son looked on the internet and we were both immediately drawn to Di’s website.
When she came to see us to discuss what we wanted our
initial thoughts were confirmed and Poppy took to her immediately.
I had no reservations about Di taking Poppy out and will continue to use her in the future.
Judi Kinnear & Poppy, Hartford
'My young dog always looks tired and contented after Di has
taken her out for a walk.
I asked that she be walked with other dogs and this has been
part of her socialization.
Di has been very helpful in accommodating my changing requirements. She has a genuine love of dogs!
Carla Cook & Scribble, Hartford
I contacted Di when we had our new
cocker spaniel puppy.
Harry is a very timid puppy and Di soon gained his confidence
and he now so looks forward to her visits. It was obvious when we first met Di that she absolutely loves dogs and is concerned about their welfare and safety. He now goes out on his doggie adventures and has made lots of new friends. When we get home Harry is very tired but content. I would happily recommend Di to anyone.

"I contacted Di just prior to getting our chocolate
Labrador puppy Bruno who was 4 months old. She gave me
great advice on what I needed to think about for our puppy
and what his likely needs were going to be. This was all before we decided to get the puppy so when we did, Di was our natural choice
for our dog walker. From the word go Bruno and Di got on great, he enjoys all his walks and experiences. Di has been great in introducing him to new things such as the vets, shops, bikes….. the list is endless. He also has great doggie
friends with the other dogs that Di walks. She is very adaptable, accommodating, helpful and clearly loves dogs!
I would recommend her to anyone and so would Bruno Woof!"
Vicki & Bruno, Whitegate
Di has become our 3 Labrador’s – Leah, Ruby and
senior citizen Nala – surrogate auntie over the last year
and a half.
She walks them regularly every week and her reliabilty is matched only by the dog’s enthusiasm and happiness when she arrives to
look after them. She is caring and professional and her rates are extremely reasonable. We, dogs and humans, cannot recommend Di at House and Hound highly enough.

Thank you Di for providing such a great service.
I was anxious when I had to hire someone to walk my Milly,
but from the first moment Milly met you,
I knew she would be in great hands.
Would thoroughly recommend your service to anyone!
Chris and Milly, Northwich
If you are going away for a while and would rather leave
your dogs in their own home environment,
then Di is the lady for you. She offers a friendly, experienced and reliable service, giving you updates by text during your time away,
so you know how your furry friends are getting on.
Di has looked after Bella and Daisy (our Yorkie and Chorkie) on a number of occasions now and from the moment they met her, they loved her. We wouldn’t use anyone else!

"We have used House and Hound on
several occasions to
look after our cat Alfie.
As well as making sure he is feed and watered
Di also makes sure he gets plenty of fuss and treats. Extremely reliable service and can highly recommend. “
Gavin and Laura Johnson, Davenham
Di has had a wonderful effect on Mollie our border collie.
Mollie was a spirited puppy when Di began walking her and now
she is a beautiful dog with a lovely sociable attitude to humans and other dogs alike. We heartily recommend Di at House and Hound to other dog owners who care about their dog's wellbeing and development.
Lis, Peter and Mollie, Rudheath
Di Jones has looked after our two Maine Coon cats Hansi & Lucy
since March 2013.
We had previously used a very nice cattery but our little Lucy is
very much a scaredy cat and taking her out of her home environment really
upset her and she would simply hide in the cat chalet for the whole of her time
there. We had to find another solution and this is where Di came to the rescue.
When she first came to visit our cats Lucy hid as expected, but after a few visits and
with infinite patience Di managed to eventually coax Lucy into the open and they are
now best of pals.
Hansi our big Maine Coon boy
suffers from back problems (due to his size) and has to have a mild daily painkiller.
Di expertly administers this with his food. Both cats absolutely adore Di,
they recognise her voice and come running when she visits - this is the only proof
I need on how good she is with animals.
She has a key to our house when we are away and we can
enjoy our holidays without worrying about our precious kitty cats.
Di is a true animal lover and a professional pet sitter whom
I would not hesitate to recommend.
Karen, Hansi and Lucy, Cuddington
‘Really pleased to have found Di’s website.
I had been leaving my cat Ella in a local cattery in what was
a basic concrete cell. Now I can leave Ella at home when I am away
(even at short notice) and can be certain that Di will visit on a
daily basis to ensure that Ella is fed, watered and cleaned in the comfort
of her own home. Daily text updates as well! I cannot recommend Di highly enough.’
Chris and Ella, Kingsmead
It’s great to be able to go away,
knowing that our chickens are being well taken of.
Di is caring and reliable and shows genuine interest in our girls!
Debra and Girls, Hartford
I cannot recommend Di highly enough,
I have a very excitable (& crazy) 4 year old Chocolate Labrador!
In the past I have had my concerns with hiring a dog walker,
Harvey is a big strong lab who is definitely
not the easiest to walk on a lead! I was always worried that a stranger wouldn't be able to cope with him, I needn't have worried from my first meeting with Di she put me completely at ease!!
Over the past 10 months Di has been walking Harvey a couple of times a week, she has adapted her walks to suit him, you can see just how good she is with him, because of her patience and care he loves his walks
and
although she may have a constant sore arm from him pulling you
can tell she loves walking him too!!
Gemma and Harvey, Davenham
Di gives a great service!
Very reliable, loving and caring towards my
two Labradors Millie and Mollie.
I wouldn’t have anyone else!

After bringing Kellie to the UK from abroad she had some anxieties
with people and other dogs. I needed help in walking her whilst I was
working and early in 2013 I found Di online. I can honestly say it’s the best
thing I have ever done for Kellie.
At first Di walked Kellie on her own, gaining trust. Eventually, when they were more confident, she introduced Kellie to some of the other dogs and now Kellie loves her
time with Di even more. She’s made friends and has a ball running around playing with them. I’ve joined Di on a few walks and she’s a natural dog lover, got a lovely friendly, calm and caring personality but totally in control of the dogs and is aware of where each one is and what they are up to at all times. I’m no longer working but Kellie would never forgive me if I stopped her going out with Di!!
Di is reliable and trustworthy, she will always keep me informed of when Kellie has been dropped off if I’m out. On Di’s website she says “I’ll love your dog like I love my own” and I have no doubt Di loves Kellie and looks after her best interests at all times –
I needed to able to trust Di with one of the most important things in my
life and I do.
Having Di look after your pet will be the best decision you make
for them and I recommend her without any hesitation.

Di was recommended to us by Patrick at Northwich Vets
and we thought if she’s good enough for him, she must be good.
She’s not just good, she is truly wonderful!
Di is the kindest and most caring person we have ever met who has that
genuine love and compassion for animals that cannot be taught.
She’s also brilliant with humans!
She has looked after our elderly cat, Teddy, for a few years now
whilst we are on holiday and we can honestly say
we have the utmost confidence that Teddy will be well looked after.
We cannot recommend Di highly enough.
